Pillar Candles
There are a lot of different types of candles out there for a lot of different situations. For parties, there are the much beloved tea light candles which can be used for soft, elegant lighting. For those who like candles more for the scents they can give off, there are jar candles which are meant to be burned slowly to get the maximum amount of scent out of them. There are other options out there, too; options that allow you to get both a decorative feel out of your candles as well as great scents. These are pillar candles, one of the oldest types of candles in the world. Not only do they make great decoration for whatever room they are in, but they also smell wonderful.
Around the world, pillar candles are used for different purposes. While some use it strictly for decorative and scent aspects, others use scented pillar candles for everything for religious purposes to lighting to even time keeping purposes (that mostly stopped a couple of centuries ago). There really isn't a corner of the world where you wouldn't find a pillar candle used in some way. With that in mind, most people purchase pillar candles because of how they look and how they smell. The reason for this is, well, you can get pillar candles that smell like just about anything.
There are some scents that you'll find in just about every candle store when it comes to pillar candles. These scents include such favorites as apple, vanilla, sandalwood, strawberry, lavender, and watermelon. During various times of the year you'll find certain scents that properly celebrate the season. For example, in the fall you'll get pumpkins and pie scents; in the winter you'll get gingerbread, pine tree and cranberry; in the spring it's fresh cut grass and peach; and in the summer it's all about the beach, and warm apple pie.
In recent years, the idea of selling pillar candles has expanded from specialty candle stores to just about every other type of candle company. These include everything from corner drug stores and home improvement stores, to big chain stores which feature full aisles of pillar candles.
